Michael Phelps is awesome… Why even bother competing when he is in your field? You try soooo hard and he makes it look easy. Yes, I do give up way too easily.
I noticed a lot of these swimmers have the Olympic rings tattooed on their body… that is so cool - I want to be the last qualifier for the most obscure sport in the Olympics so I can get one of those tattoos! Why don't I just get that tattoo? You have to get INTO the Olympics for that tattoo to mean anything!
While I work on that goal, I guess my backup tattoo plan is to get the Bruin “B”. It’ll be ambiguous enough - multi-purpose, depending on what life brings.

Monica and I went to NINE scrapbook stores today… from Huntington Beach to Westminster to Cerritos to Anaheim Hills to Placentia to Whittier and finally end in Torrance. It was crazy but I’m so glad we did it - it was fun and how many people can say they did that? Well, not many people will even want to, but you get my point! It was very well planned out, like every Monica does. She mapped out the entire day, complete with mapquest directions and maps from location to location and a schedule.

OK - total waste of 2 hours of my life (a little less because I fast forwarded through the commercials)...
Also, caught the end of Bachelorette and all I have to say is, what the hell is she thinking?
Today has totally sucked... except for the part where my phone started working again (it fell in some water yesterday and I put it in a bag of uncooked rice overnight... thank you google!)

It's summer and there is nothing on TV... They're not even showing repeats of Brothers & Sisters anymore and I need my Rob Lowe fix! I Tivo'd this Lifetime Movie "Christmas Shoes" last weekend because of Rob Lowe and Kimberly Williams (the girl from Father of the Bride) and I'm watching it right now... I am regretting it because Rob Lowe's character is an ass!

You know whats worse than doing a 22 state tax return with lots of foreign income? Figuring out what states you need to file an extension for!! They makes the directions so confusing - NY sounds like you don't need to do anything for an automatic 6 month extension if you file for a federal extension, but then if you read closely, they want you to send in either the federal or NY form before the original due date, so you might as well just do the NY extension also... In MA, I think you're supposed to call for an extension? Michigan requires that you send in an extension, so when you're filling out form 4, it tells you not to use the form if you don't owe any taxes - I guess you're just supposed to send them a copy of your federal.
Somehow I end up doing the tax return every year and it's hard every year because of the foreign company the guy owns... They go on tour last year and the return is enough to make me cry - it's so complicated!
So, that pretty much sums up my weekend. We're done with tax season (until Oct. 15th when all the returns we filed extensions for are due).

So... March is halfway over and I STILL haven't filed my taxes or turned in my AFLAC reimbursements for 2007...
I'm taking so many mini-trips this year... I went to Seattle to visit Leila last month, have a flight booked to Chicago for Grace's graduation in May and will probably go to Puerto Rico to visit Asha the first weekend of May. It's always nice to get out of LA.

There are so many celeb look-a-likes on American Idol this year...
Harry Hamlin
Orlando Bloom
Jessica Alba
Ellen DeGeneres
Carlton from Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Anyways, I found my W-2s, so I can finally do my tax return... I want my $600! I won't be filing an extension on April 15th this year... yes I know all I have is a W-2, and 3 1099s (interest income) and I did about 20 tax returns last year before April 15th - I don't know why I do (or don't do) the things I do (or don't do).

I went to the LA Times Travel Show so I could see Phil Keoghan (host of Amazing Race) - he's even better looking in person!! Two minutes into his speech, I told my co-worker, "Brad Pitt is officially off my Celeb 5 list and Phil is on!" He had a very motivational speech though - he was talking about his program NOW (No Opportunity Wasted) and it was about making your life list and finding a way to accomplish them. 99% of the time, our jobs are the biggest obstacles in fulfilling our life list. He told a story about a subpar musician who wanted to travel the world and get paid for his performances. The result? He found a cruise ship looking for musicians. A 40 year old brown suit wearing accountant reevaluated his life and decided he hated his job (duh) and just wanted to drink and get paid for it - he became a wine taster. Phil talked about his life experiences also - he had a 5 star dinner on a mountaintop with a erupting volcano in the background, he renewed his vows underwater, and hit a golf ball coast to coast in Scotland, ending at the St. Andrews golf course.

My boot camp people arranged a discount at lucy a couple months ago - 40% off everything. I bought these capri pants and I love them!! I was looking at the label the other day and wondered how they knew... :)

I remember telling Steph a while ago that I wanted Mighty Putty after seeing it in an infomercial... I saw it at Target a couple weeks ago and couldn't remember why I even wanted that stuff. I just saw the commercial again - did I want to pull a fully loaded 80,000 pound tractor trailer?? I don't think that's it. I'm glad I didn't impulse buy this!

It is already the 6th day of the new year and I still haven't done anything about my new year's resolutions... #1 was to blog more (I mean, blog AT ALL), #2 was to work out, lose weight and #3 is to get my CPA this year. Here's my attempt at getting off my butt and getting something accomplished this year.
How do I even begin to update this blog on everything I've done (and not done) in the past year?? I'll start with this - I moved! I live in West LA now instead of Santa Monica and the apartment is so much nicer. We had so many problems at the old apartment - the dishwasher didn't work, the shower was so small and the shower door didn't close right (I put in a rubber band to hold it shut). The trees outside weren't treated, so anytime you park, all these berries would fall on your car and on the pavement... It was just convenient to stay and we talked about moving all the time but never did anything about it until we were forced to. Our 3rd roommate, also a co-worker, had been charging a lot of stuff on some clients' credit cards and was fired. We knew we couldn't live with him afterwards so it was the final push we needed to sign up for Westside Rental and move. I love the new apartment - the bonus is we live across the hall from a UCLA football player - the cutest one on the team this year (looks like Maria's ex) and one of the best defensive players in the country.
Speaking of UCLA football, I am sooooo happy about our new coach!! I've always been supportive of UCLA coaches (liked Lavin & Toledo) but Dorrell just had to go! We gave up on the season after losing to Utah and Notre Dame. The last couple years have been the same - we start out great and fizzle out halfway though the season.
