Oh my... the subject of today's Oprah is debt, spending, etc. and they're talking about this family that is out of control because the 2 kids rack up a total of over $600 in credit card charges every month. While I realize that this might be a big amount for regular families, this doesn't even reach the absurd-ness of our clients' kid's spending... The average clients' kid's credit card limit is $5000 and we usually put anywhere from $600-$1500 in their bank accounts as their allowances each month. Some of the kids are in their 20s now and the parents are trying to get them to learn to be on their own - you don't know how hard that is on the kids! We even had to show a guy how to write checks and he's 22!!
