Can't wait til tomorrow... the first Lakers preseason game!! Oh, and the recall :). I miss watching my boys out there on the court and I'm excited now that Karl and Gary joined the team. (Mike says I sold out now because I don't hate Karl Malone anymore). Too bad Rick Fox is out til January and Kobe has all that stuff going on.

There was a long article on Kobe in Newsweek this week - pretty interesting and it points out a lot of stuff that I'm sure a lot of people didn't know. Poor guy - he has all the skills in the world but he doesn't have street smarts or social skills. He had a girlfriend when he asked Brandy to prom (he told the girlfriend his agent wanted him to do that). Brandy didn't know who he was but she thought he was kinda cute and she wanted to go to a prom so she said ok. When he moved out here, his parents and Brandy's parents tried to get them together but he was too boring for her. It mentions he liked Beyonce, Kelly Rowlands, Venus Williams, and Tyra Banks but then he met Vanessa. Everyone was against him going out with Vanessa cause she was too young and uncultured compared to the other successful women he romanced in the past but he wouldn't listen, he wanted to get married against everyone's wishes, didn't want a prenup either. Michael Jordan and some other NBA players called him and told him to at least get a prenup (when Michael Jordan calls, YOU LISTEN!). Anyway, the article covers way more (it was a gooooooood article!) but the thing that shocked the hell out of me was it said he went to go see a divorce lawyer in March and when Vanessa found out about the meeting, she had to be taken to the hospital. I've heard some pretty messed up things about their relationship from other sources - most likely rumors though - he paid off all the debt her family was in, bought them a lot of stuff, etc... James told me he heard on the sports talk shows a while ago that one day Kobe came home to their house in Newport Beach and the front end of his S-class Benz was messed up, he asked Vanessa what happened and she said, "My ex-boyfriend came by and was driving the car and wrecked it." How messed up is that? (IF IT'S TRUE).

MTV Cribs tonight is ALL Shaq - all 3 segments. It's gotta be good.
