Happy Birthday to the Prez. I was helping out my parents today so I took some reading material home. I just bought Bush at War by Bob Woodward last week and I decided to start reading it. I'm gonna be going through interviews soon and I'm trying to be a more well-rounded person. I'm only through the first 23 pages (too many distractions!) but the one thing I've realized is that not everyone gets along with everyone on Bush's Cabinet. Donald Rumsfeld and Bush's dad didn't get along, Colin Powell and Bush aren't that close, Rumsfeld blamed Cheney for stuff that happened in Gerald Ford's administation, etc. Also CIA director George Tenet had a chance to kill Bin Laden back when Clinton was president (these people (called Seniors) they hired to track Bin Laden wanted to just shoot everyone in Bin Laden's entourage and just run for it) but President Ford had signed a presidential ban on assassination decades ago so they couldn't do anything. All this from 23 pages! And the book is 362 pages.
One of the distractions at home was the Soapnet Channel. I don't get that channel here but my parents have DirecTV. I watched a whole weeks worth of All My Children this afternoon. I can't believe how superior that soap is to Days and Passions. I used to watch All My Children but when I lived with Steph, she got me hooked on Days. Passions was my own fault. I used to watch Sunset Beach before that was cancelled and they replaced it with Passions.
I don't know about this Trading Spaces Family, it isn't cast well. The carpenter and the host are too similar and those are the two people on every episode.
Why are my boys getting in trouble these days?? First Justin Guarini and the waterboat thing and now Kobe?? Part of me wonders if this is overblown because they are celebrities and people just want to take advantage of them to be on the news.
I had a very productive day yesterday... had lunch with Steve (was on-time for once!! or as close to on-time as I can get). Then came home and did nothing til 8:00pm when I realized Bloomingdales was open til 9. Eileen gave two $15 gift cards (from her client) because she hated parking at Century City Shopping Center and the cards were gonna expire today. She also gave me two $25 rewards certificates (also from the client) that expire in September. I decided to go because I needed some new jeans and all the jeans there were at least $120. I just got makeup instead. After I left Century City, I decided to rush over to Westside Pavilion because I had some clothes to return (I bought them back in March) and I got about $80 back. I decided to go to Home Depot afterwards to return these other things and I got $15 back - my old roommate had a PUR filter on our faucet and in order to install that, she had to take off the aerator (I've become an expert on aerators because I've been to Home Depot 4 times to try and find the right size) and I don't know what she did with it so I've been obsessed with trying to fix the thing myself. I got back to the apartment, saw all the dirty clothes here (mine and Dante's) and decided to head to the laundromat. 8 freaking loads!!
Sunday night... work tomorrow. Sucks. I need a life to make my weekends more interesting. At least I have America's Next Top Model to look forward to on Tuesday! Its the finale and I want Adrianne to win but we'll see. I got Jenny hooked on it last week. :) Her friend worked on this show a little bit and she knows who won... hmmmm.
