Poor Sean Phaler - Phaler encouraged to move on - the only reason I care is because he's from Villa Park High School and I was excited to have someone from my high school play on the UCLA basketball team. I hope Coach Howland knows what he is doing in general because you know the alumni will start calling for him to get fired in a year or two (unless you win 10 championships in 12 years like Coach Wooden did back in the 70s, nothing is good enough). I was a diehard supporter of Coach Lavin because he was young, cute and his first year as the UCLA coach was also my first year in college. I knew he couldn't 'coach' or 'develop players' but he did a darn good job of winning games.
